Ligature Brief - 100+ ideas and final two outcomes

For the ligature brief we decided to represent a phrase imbedded in contemporary youth culture: "you get me" or ygm. The brief challenged not only my ability to provide creative outcomes against a tight time scale but also was a test of team work and communication. I feel our group communicated well and employed strategy at key moments to help us develop our 100 outcomes. An example of this was when we attempted to diversify through collaboration and reinterpret one voted upon design from each group member. Keeping track of what each member was doing was integral to insuring we worked to schedule and task.

I feel our feel our final designs work in symphony with the minimalistic, modernist face Futura to provide an appropriate interpretation of the phrase YGM. We experimented a little with using the ligature in context in a Skepta song although this area could have been explored further. I would also suggest that we didn't experiment enough with a range of media, which became apparent upon reflection on peers work. If we were to do the project again I'm sure we would move away from the sketchbook pages and experiment further. However this said peers reacted largely positively to our work, showing appreciation for the cohesion between product and context.
