Grids research publication crit review

I have managed to get into grids a little more than colour, however problems around apathy toward the task have still been an issue. For this reason the booklet produced was unorganised and peers commented on its chaotic nature. However there was also a good amount of praise for the research completed and the few pieces of experimentation included. I think this is in part down to the choice of publications that I photocopied; ranging from newspapers to fashion archives with some very simplistic minimalist grids in between. The annotation using coloured pencil was also appreciated due to it just being a very slightly different technique than everyone else using acetate. I feel like there has been less pressure with this task than colour as there is less impetus on physical experimentation and more on building a strong visual repertoire for the grid systems. I have more confidence in this publication being useful to me with a bit more work, which is a positive. Maybe my attitude towards the task I saw as 'boring' earlier in the week has also changed and I feel I have taken charge of it more instead of seeing it as a box ticking exercise. That said I am very much so looking forward to moving on to the book cover project and leaving this, slightly restrictive research behind.
